Reconsider Buying Puppies Online

Animal shelters are usually eager to find homes for its dogs and cats, and in light of a recent scam, may be the preferred method of bringing an animal into your home. A St. Louis family recently tried to buy a Shih Tzu online through only to find out it was a bogus website after losing $500.

Better Business Bureau investigator Don O'Brien tells The Big Z there are many dogs looking for forever homes in local shelters.

He says there have already been more than 200 complaints filed with the BBB against dog breeders nationwide so far this year. Some involve paying for pets that don't exist, while others ask for large amounts of money for "shipping costs."
