Betty Dee Green

Betty Dee Green, 81, entered Heaven's Gates at 5:55 a.m., on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Jerseyville on Jan. 20, 1936, and was one of two children born to
Lloyd "Shorty" and Dimple Dee (Morris) Anderson.
Betty was blessed with a wonderful life. She was surrounded by life during her entire lifetime, beginning with loving parents, and then providing a loving a stable home for her husband and children as well. The pride she had for her family was indescribable, and she felt blessed to know that she was loved as well.
She graduated from Jersey Community High School, and soon married her lifetime love, Ralph Green. The two married on Sept. 18, 1953 at the Kane Baptist Church, and they two would soon embark to South Carolina where he was stationed with the armed services.
They would return back to the area, and begin their family. She stayed home with her children until they were raised. Because of her love of children, she then began driving a school bus for Jersey Community Unit #100, transporting the children of the Kane area to and from school for nearly 27 years, with her school bus being a constant fixture in their driveway.
God blessed Betty with talent, and she displayed them in various paintings, but also shared her abilities on the piano and organ through the years. She has served at both the Kane Baptist Church and Believers Baptist Church as their church pianist and organist.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Green of Kane; a son, Alan Green of Kane; and daughter and son in law, Tonya and Doyle Williamson of Fredericktown, Mo.; three grandchildren, Kyle Green of Galesburg, Tiffany Shields of Springfield and Talana Huggins of Jerseyville; two great grandchildren, Leah Shields and Draven Green; a sister in law and her husband, Ida May and Jake Pickel of Jerseyville; along with two nephews and their spouses, Richard and Brenda Anderson of Kane, and Bryan and Patti Anderson of St. Louis, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her only brother, Lloyd Richard "Dick" Anderson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Believers Baptist Church in Carrollton, with Rev. Jason Valentin officiating.
Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.
